BIO

Vic was born in Manhattan in the Little Italy Section. He was raised in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn from the age of five. No one in his family was a musician. None of his friends played. But Vic new very early on that he wanted to play music.

After begging his father for years, he was finally able to take guitar lessons at the local music school during the summer between 6th and 7th grade. His dad bought him a $25 acoustic guitar from a relative and he took the lessons. He gave it up after about 5 or 6 lessons knowing that guitar wasn't it, but still, the want to play remained.

Entering the 7th Grade, he joined the JHS band and played Trombone, picked solely because of the 2 notes in "Theme from Rocky" that introduced the verse of song. Vic like the trombone a lot and even took one home to practice over the summer.

In the 8th Grade Vic met a guy named Fred Gubitosi who played Guitar and they started spending a lot of their free school time talking about music. After a while Vic was introduced by Fred to Joe Kaplan who played Drums and another guitarist. Vic was invited to bring his trombone down since they had no bass player. Vic loved it. They played "Get Back" by the Beatles over and over.

Fred had coaxed Vic to buy a bass guitar. (Not that he needed much coaxing) So Vic went back to begging his Dad for a bass. They went to Sam ash together and Vic's dad bought him a Hondo Bass for $149 and a small amp. At the music store that night, the sales clerk who showed Vic the bass plugged it in and starting playing a bit. Then he confidently handed the bass over to Vic thinking he impressed Vic with his bass lines. Vic took the bass and started wailing. The amazed clerk asked, "Hey man, that's pretty good, how long have you been playing?" Vic answered, "About 8 seconds..."

Vic started playing bass at the age of 14 and was playing gigs at the age of 15.
Not only was he one of the few people in the neighborhood who owned a bass...he could actually play it well! He started buying all kinds of records and started playing with the records. 90% of free time was spent on bass. Listening and playing to Zep, Rush, Paul McCartney, Cream, James Brown, and so on gave him the chops.

Over the years he was involved with several bands, Revelation, Spider Glam and the Red Moon Syncopaters, Talon, to name a few. He played bass in Church bands, school functions talent shows, wherever. In High school he won the Kiwanis medal for music because he was involved in the schools band, orchestra, choir, and Theater Company.
Vic spent 2 years as a Music Major at Kingsboro Community College.

His longest lasting group was called Sonhouse. He spent 11 years with the group playing all over NYC and toured several of the Northeast states.

Vic Played with  Blake and the Family Dog and wowed the crowd with psycho bass solos. BFD disbanded end of 2006.
